This holiday season, give your musical theatre–loving child or teen the gift of a meaningful, confidence-building performance experience with Hannah Taylor’s Musical Theatre Workshop Series.
This five-month workshop series meets once a month from January through May, followed by a final showcase, and is designed for students ages 7–18. Students will be placed in small groups of a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 6 and will be grouped according to age and experience level. This creates an environment where everyone feels fully challenged, supported, and inspired. I am only offering 2 workshop groups this series, so spots are limited.
Structured as a masterclass-style experience, each workshop gives students the opportunity to perform cuts of musical theatre songs, receive individualized feedback on vocal technique, acting, and overall performance, and learn by observing and encouraging one another. This collaborative environment helps performers grow quickly while building confidence, connection, and stage presence.
This series is ideal for:
Students who aren’t able to commit to weekly lessons
Student who are waiting for a private lesson spot to open
Students needing focused coaching for auditions, callbacks, or upcoming shows
Students simply wanting an opportunity to strengthen their performance skills.
Location and Times
Workshops will take place at the Sammons Center for the Arts in the Studio Room. The final showcase will also be held at the Sammons Center, in their beautiful Kurth Hall.
Workshops will meet on the second Saturday of each month, January through May, from 9:00-11:30 AM.
Workshop Dates:
Workshop 1 - January 10
Workshop 2 - February 14
Workshop 3 - March 14*
Workshop 4 - April 11
Workshop 5 - May 9
Showcase - Late May/Early June (date TBD)
*March 14 workshop date is subject to change if it conflicts with local spring break schedules.
One or two make-up classes will also be added during the semester as needed for students with unavoidable conflicts.
The location and dates listed above apply to the first workshop group. If there is enough interest for a second group, the location and schedule for that class will be determined based on student availability and shared with enrolled families before registration is finalized.
What Each Student Will Gain
Students will strengthen their vocal technique, acting skills, and musical theatre performance abilities while gaining confidence, stage presence, and audition readiness. Just as importantly, they will build meaningful connections with other performers who share their interests and goals. This workshop fosters a supportive, encouraging environment where students learn to collaborate, give and receive feedback, and feel seen and valued as artists.
Build Strong Vocal Technique: Learn healthy, sustainable singing rooted in breath work, resonance, and musical theatre-specific technique.
Develop Acting & Storytelling Skills: Explore character choices, emotional connection, phrasing, and how to bring a song to life through intentional storytelling.
Improve Musicality & Performance Skills: Work on phrasing, rhythm, musical interpretation, stage presence, and how to sing with an accompanist.
Learn Through Peer Observation: Students will watch each other perform, hear one another’s feedback, and learn how to apply those insights to their own singing—one of the fastest ways to accelerate growth.
Receive Personalized Feedback Every Session: Each singer gets individual coaching in every workshop, ensuring consistent progress and a clear sense of artistic development.
Build Confidence Through Connection: One of the most significant parts of this workshop is the community. Students gain encouragement, learn to support one another, and build genuine relationships with peers who love performing just as much as they do. The environment is warm, safe, and supportive; perfect for both seasoned performers and students who need a confidence boost.
Prepare for Real-World Opportunities: Whether they’re gearing up for auditions, school musicals, community theatre, or simply want to grow their skills, students gain practical tools they can apply immediately.
