Bio
Hannah Taylor holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Harding University, where she studied under Dr. Susan Shirel and Dr. Scott Carrell. She received extensive classical vocal training before developing a deep passion for contemporary musical theatre, vocal storytelling, and helping singers discover authentic artistic expression.
During her time at Harding, Hannah toured throughout Europe and the United States with elite vocal ensembles and presented two full-length professional vocal recitals featuring both classical and musical theatre repertoire. She also pursued additional acting and musical theatre coursework to strengthen her stagecraft. Her performance credits include Shrek the Musical, Footloose, and The Pirates of Penzance, among others. She has earned recognition through numerous vocal competitions, including NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and other national and regional music competitions. Hannah has performed with selected choruses alongside the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and at Lincoln Center in New York City in Whitacre: Light & Gold, conducted by Grammy Award-winning composer Eric Whitacre.
With more than 14 years of teaching experience, Hannah has built a thriving private voice and piano studio serving students throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and across the country online. After beginning her career at the Searcy Community School of Music in Searcy, Arkansas and spending six years on faculty at The Dallas School of Music, she launched her own independent studio, which has grown into a full studio of over 40 weekly students with an ongoing waitlist.
Hannah’s students have been accepted into prestigious performing arts institutions including Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Oklahoma City University, Otterbein University, Chapman University, The Theatre School at DePaul University, George Washington University, and NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her students regularly perform throughout the Dallas theatre community and participate in highly competitive performing arts programs and summer intensives, as well as professional productions.
In addition to teaching, Hannah remains an active performer and believes deeply in modeling lifelong artistry for her students. In 2026, she created and performed This One Wild Life, a contemporary musical theatre song cycle exploring themes of longing, becoming, courage, and living authentically. The concert reflected a meaningful shift and communicated her belief that artistic expression has the power to heal, connect, and tell the stories that shape who we are.
Hannah has also served on the board of the Dallas Music Teachers Association, coordinating student competitions and events, and was a member of the Dallas Symphony Chorus. She is an accomplished pianist who has performed for weddings, special events, auditions, recitals, concerts, and musical theatre productions. Additionally, she has spoken on collegiate panels about building and sustaining a successful private music studio.
Hannah’s teaching philosophy blends healthy, sustainable technique with anatomy-informed vocal training, expressive storytelling, and individualized instruction. Drawing from both classical foundations and contemporary musical theatre techniques, she helps singers develop freedom, confidence, emotional connection, and artistry while prioritizing long-term vocal health, especially for children and adolescents whose voices are still developing. As a piano teacher, she emphasizes strong musicianship, efficient technique, creativity, and a deep understanding of music, helping students build both skill and confidence at the keyboard.
Above all, Hannah believes music is far more than mastering notes or producing beautiful sounds; it is one of the most vulnerable and transformative forms of self-expression. She is passionate about creating a safe, encouraging environment where students can build not only technical skill, but also confidence, resilience, joy, and a strong sense of identity both as musicians and as individuals.
Hannah resides in The Colony, Texas, with her husband Chris, daughter Felicity, and beloved Miniature Australian Shepherd, Tuck.
